Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center is one of the key projects planned and constructed in Shanghai during the 12th Five Year Plan period. It is an exhibition complex composed of exhibition venues, comprehensive supporting facilities and logistics support facilities. The main building is modeled by the stretching and soft four leaf grass, which implies luck, happiness and magic, and adopts the design concept of axial symmetry. The project is divided into North and South plots, with a total area of 1560 Mu and a total construction area of 1.39 million square meters, including 1.24 million square meters of ground buildings and 150000 square meters of underground buildings. On January 9, 2014, Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center was successfully capped.
